Enhancing Salesforce for Global Channel Partner Enablement
- The client had made a significant investment in its global Salesforce platform to automate processes and establish a single source of truth. Given that 80% of its business operates through indirect sales, the client recognized an opportunity to enhance platform capabilities for its sales partners.
- After an unsuccessful attempt to launch a proof-of-concept solution, the client engaged Valent to develop a functional needs analysis, implementation roadmap, and technical design for its Channel Partner Portal.
Structured Approach to Business-Tech Alignment
Valent applied an Assess > Strategy > Plan methodology to create a prioritized business functionality backlog, technical design, and implementation plan:
- Requirements Backlog Development – Conducted workshops and user interviews to develop an inventory of user personas and detailed, estimable user stories.
- Technical Design – Performed in-depth analysis of application and data structures in Salesforce and the core ERP to design a portal integration architecture and reporting data architecture.
- Plan Development – Combined requirements and technical designs to create estimates and develop a detailed multi-quarter implementation, testing, and rollout plan, including Salesforce user license modeling to forecast costs based on adoption rates.
